International Rites of Passage (8-Elder)

Thanks to a grant from The Heinz Endowments (2010-15) the Healthy Village Learning Institute continues to provide necessary Rites of Passage processes to young men and women living in McKeesport/Allegheny County. We are working to provide a National model for this proces that is African-centered in focus and design.

Community Mother's and Fathers (21+)

It has been said that "it takes a Village to raise a child" but we believe that It Takes a "Healthy" Village to Raise a Healthy Child! Our Village Mothers and Fathers are a major part of this process and we encourage all interested in being a part of our solution-based process to join us.

Council of Village Elders

Fire that is surrounded by Elders cannot burn you. The words of the Elders are blessed. The words of the Elders do not lock all the doors, they leave the right door open.
